The founder of “Ireland’s Lithuanians Care”, Rita Lamsargytė Mockė rejoices at the success of the weekend of kibinai charity campaign which took place June 2nd. She expressed her gratitude and thanked everyone: “We baked around 1500 kibinai (to be honest – we lost count).

After the weekend of kibinai we all felt tired from all the work, however it was the nice kind of tired. The fantastic volunteers on our kibinai baking team are: Laura Didjurgytė, Jesenta Calpanova, Saulė, Aistė Merkelienė, Viktorija Petrauskaitė,  Asta Vilimaitienė, Viktorija Juškienė, and Gabija Jankūnaitė. We thank Inga Varkojytė and Povilas Viršila for the transportation of kibinai and the cakes baked for lottery, Andrius Grusauskas for meat prepared for kibinai, Svetlana Borisova-Žukienė and Edita Liuberskė for cakes baked for the lottery winners, the little Adelija Petrauskaitė for donating money from her piggy-bank again to help sick children, “Lituanica Ireland” for their products, Genutė Bruzgelevičienė and her husband for supporting children suffering from diabetes, Aušra Stankevičiūtė Vekrikienė for the most delicious Kuršėnų vyniotinis (Kuršėnai meat roll), Rima Čingė for bags, Danguolė  Jurkonienė for gifts for kids, Svetlana Kononova for handicrafts, and all of Ireland’s Lithuanians who bought kibinai and supported the cause! We collected 2900 euro. There are so many of you, and by supporting us you empower us to do better and help even more sick children. Thank you!”

Everyone is invited to join the charity campaigns that will be taking place later this year:

From June 7th to August 30th – Elona Šemetienė, the head of the Elona’s dance studio, will organise charity zumba classes every Thursday.

In September, the honorary “Žalgiris” club in Ireland will organise “3X3” charity basketball tournament and football club “Baltic United” will also organise the annual football tournament. All of the proceeds will go to children suffering from oncological diseases in Lithuania.
